I dreamed I was working at an office. In the dream, it was an office where someone I'd known for a long time worked. She would call me a bunch, trying to get me to come to work there. When I pictured it, I imagined it as a huge office building with white walls, floors, and ceilings, lots of cubicles, and standard wooden and metal desks. I often called there, and that woman rarely answered. I thought there may have been a dedicated receptionist in a particular area. Now I saw that there were just a couple in one little area, and in actuality, everyone could answer the phone. It somehow felt different in the dream. Now, I had decided to work there. It was much cozier and warmer than I had pictured it. And it was decorated with warm colors, like brownish walls and earth-toned decor. It was also much smaller, taking up maybe one floor. I don't think that woman worked there any longer, but I think she was still in my life. I wasn't sure how to make working there work. I felt like I wasn't offering them what they deserved, and I wasn't sure what I was doing. But they seemed very happy with me and like they wanted me there. They were warm and friendly. I didn't know you could work at places like this, where you were appreciated and welcomed. But still, I didn't feel like I was contributing. I wanted to, but I just didn't know what to do. Like, I guess I didn't know what they wanted me to do. I came in for one shift, and a coworker who was helping show me the ropes was talking to me. She normally wore sandals. She happened to mention that the boss hated to see feet. I said, oh my gosh, I didn't know. I'll be sure to wear shoes that cover my feet. I happened to have some slip-on shoes with me. She said they didn't like telling people bad things. Like they were that nice. I said, please do. It's what helps me know what to do. There was something else I could change, but I forget now what it was. I was grateful to know it too, though. Interestingly, that I was not doing those things right didn't make the boss not like me. Like, he didn't seem to like me more or less either way. I was an employee and looked at like everyone, it seemed. I had some furniture there, a couch and chairs, and I was trying to figure out how to decorate my space. With the pretty open office floor plan and my space fairly close to my boss's office, I felt concerned to get it fixed up right before he got there. I really hoped to make him proud and happy. I didn't want to be a nuisance or in the way. I was trying to figure out how to make all the pieces of the furniture fit and look right. The boss got there. He saw me. An employee said, "She's working hard on the decorating that area." They seemed to act like that was perfectly ok work to be doing. I felt like I needed to get it done so I could get to doing work that they needed from me, that would make me worthy and able to contribute to them. At one point, an uncle of mine showed up. He said that he desperately needed me to ask some coworkers of mine if they'd come to where they lived to help him with his work. I think he was making a video. He was a videographer in the past. He said he needed young, fun, married couples. I guess to fill out the scene. I was so scared that this would disrupt the office, but it was fast, and several decided to go. Before and after this part, I dreamed I was walking, trying to get everywhere I needed to go, and I'd get lost, or it would take me a long time, like it was long trips.
